Why Spiders Take Over Your Basement Every Fall.
Updated: 6 hours ago
Check your basement corners and garage rafters. If you are seeing webs and little white egg sacs, spiders are settling in for fall at your place. It happens every year around this time, and there is a reason for it.
Spiders go where the bugs go. As the weather turns, the insects spiders feed on start pushing inside, and the spiders follow them right through the same gaps. Basements, garages, and crawl spaces are perfect for them: dark, quiet, undisturbed, and full of food. One egg sac can hold hundreds of spiderlings, so a small problem in October becomes a big one by December.
Most of the spiders we get in Mid-Michigan are harmless. But nobody wants to walk face first into a web carrying laundry, and nobody wants to find an egg sac hatching in the corner of the kids playroom. The webs themselves are the real nuisance, and they keep coming back because the spiders keep coming back to the same spots.
That is what my dewebbing service is for. I knock down every web and egg sac, inside and out, then treat the spots they keep returning to so they stay clear. It is one of the most satisfying jobs I do, because the difference is immediate. You see it the second I am done.
If the webs are taking over, call me at 1-844-772-6699. I will come take a look for free and we will get your basement back.
